Sari Maher is an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with a variety of speech and language disorders. She received her B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Ithaca College in 2006 and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from CUNY Lehman College in 2010. Sari holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

With 14 years of experience as a Speech therapist, she advocates for an interdisciplinary therapy approach. She values collaboration with parents, family members, teachers, other therapists, behaviorists, and physicians to tailor interventions for each client's unique needs. Sari has conducted workshops for teachers, parents, and professionals and serves as a clinical educator, supervising clinical externships for local graduate university students.

 

Her clinical interests include early language development, motor-based speech disorders, articulation impairments and phonological disorders, pragmatic language, autism, augmentative and alternative communication, with advanced training in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).  Sari is also PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained.  In addition, she is Hanen-certified in their program "It Takes Two To Talk", which incorporates coaching parents to reach the most effective results in language development.
